The Spanish fashion house T.ba joins Círculo Fortuny

29/2016

2nd anniversary of its London store

It is difficult to find joint initiatives or synergies of Spanish companies on the international market. Círculo Fortuny is undoubtedly an initiative with the international scope necessary to showcase Spanish brands in foreign markets.

December 2016

Coinciding with the 2nd anniversary of its London store, T.ba, an internationally present Spanish fashion house, joins Círculo Fortuny.

T.ba was conceived as a cosmopolitan alternative to country clothing that evolves with the world of fashion without losing the character that makes its collections so unique.

“We look for very high-quality fabrics and occasionally we make some exceptional materials for ourselves that are no longer available. And we always aim to collaborate with workshops in Spain.”

“…We believe that fabrics should be natural and durable. We like to see our garments age gracefully, improving with time and use.”

Mercedes López de Carrizosa, founder and creative director of T.ba

T.ba is present in 22 countries in multi-brand stores and its own boutiques in Madrid and London. It exports more than 75% of its product — its two main markets at present being the United Kingdom and the United States.

T.ba’s London store, in the heart of Chelsea, celebrates its 2nd anniversary. The decor is a mixture of cultures, with a sophisticated and personal flair. Upon entering the shop, to the left is the façade of an Andalusian or Sicilian palace with 3-meter high wrought-iron bars that bear the patina and rust of time. The opposing wall, painted by an Irish artist, resembles the interior of a palace hall with added effects to represent the passage of time. There are huge antique French mirrors and hand-painted pieces of furniture and armchairs, all chipped and somewhat worn. It is the ideal setting for the T.ba collections and the brand’s fabrics: silk velvets, aged natural textiles, antique embroideries, elaborate trims, woven tweeds with hundreds of different colours, uniquely designed buttons, etc.

In addition to T.ba, Delpozo, Hackett London, Loewe, Lorenzo Caprile, Louis Vuitton and Navascués complete Círculo Fortuny’s fashion sector. Together, as part of the association chaired by Mr. Carlos Falcó, Marqués de Griñón, these firms are a testament to the influence of Spanish couture among Europe’s high-end clothiers.
